Corporate Puritanism : Goodbye VK

Corporate puritanism has struck in an unexpected way. I have lost the VK site (Russian social media platform). The account said I had been ‘temporally blocked’ for promoting porn. It wanted me to delete the offending posts to remove the block ; problem !

I can’t remove the posts because I cannot log in because of the block. The account will only be unblocked after I have deleted the posts. But I can’t delete the posts unless I can get into the account...so I can’t unblock the account by deleting the posts because I can’t log in because of the ‘temporally block’ – ‘Catch 22’ time.

Part of the problem was that, for some unknown reason, texts sent as part to two tier authentication were not landing on the old mobile I use for this. So, I changed the number, bought a new sim card and added it to my attempts to unblock the account. A new problem, it’s an old mobile phone and it doesn’t do QR codes ! Something I hadn’t known or thought about. So, these first attempts failed. I downloaded an app to do the QR codes I had been sent to unblock the account. And they didn’t work. I contacted Technical Support and had a conversation with them where I had to use Google translate to understand. Let’s just say, this conversation and or Google translate were erratic.

So, that account was lost because of the ‘Catch 22’ position of being blocked from access the account, until I delete the offending posts. But I can’t delete the posts because I can’t log in to access and delete the posts !

Okay, so I’ll side step this and start all over again with a new VK account. Except….

I cannot set up a new VK account. Seems I’m blocked full-stop. Perhaps the multiple failed attempts to log in have triggered something ? Blocking the IP address and new mobile number ?

Or perhaps the UK is blocking the creation of new accounts on Russian social media ?

(Because of the war in Ukraine)

I don’t know and can’t find out or work out the reasons.

Whatever the reason, I am not being allowed to create a new VK account, which is both sad and annoying.

It is also worrying for the future of fan pages, sites like mine, appreciation of beautiful bodies and sensual sexuality, erotica and especially sites that share porn. The reason for my account being blocked is a change in VK’s rules about promoting porn. You can now no longer share links to porn sites such as ‘OnlyFans’. Problem, this new rule is retrospective. I have not shared the link to London Andrews ‘OnlyFans’ page since January of this year (2025) ! These are the posts they wanted deleting, all the links to London’s OF page dating back to when I started the London Andrews Project on VK in 2021.

But, there is a big and negative implication here for social media and the internet. I had posted in the past within the rules of the time. Those rules are changed (with or without notice. In relation the VK, I don’t know which ?) and accounts are deleted based on these updated rules, because past posts don’t match the new rules. Because this has happened before on MeWe.

I survived that cull of accounts by retroactive rule changes because I am circumspect in what I post, even on the sites that allow porn. I don’t share share images or video of her porn work...and now you see why. I’m often asked for the more raunchy, explicit material London has made.

Now, perhaps you will understand why I limited what I shared ?
